2025 Sweepstakes Expands, Offering More Families College Savings Opportunities

ATLANTA — March 21, 2025 — The 2023 Newborn Sweepstakes winner, baby Kaydence, pictured with her proud parents and Bethany Whetzel from the Georgia State Treasurer’s Office, was just awarded a $5,529 college savings contribution through the 2023 Path2College Newborn Sweepstakes. Kaydence's mother said: "We were so excited to find out our daughter is the 2023 winner. Knowing we are preparing for her college journey now gives us peace of mind, and we are grateful to Path2College for helping us prepare for her future."
Since launching in 2011, the Newborn Sweepstakes has awarded nearly $72,000 to 13 Georgia recipients. With this year’s expansion, the number of recipients in 2025 will increase from one to two, encouraging parents, grandparents, and guardians to prioritize early financial planning for college and certain K-12 expenses.*
Going forward, Georgia's Path2College 529 Plan ("P2C") is expanding its annual Newborn Sweepstakes to help more families jump-start their college savings. In 2025, two Georgia newborns will each win $5,529 towards a college savings plan.
"We're happy to be expanding our Path2College Newborn Sweepstakes to help support even more families in their efforts to save for educational expenses," said Georgia State Treasurer Steve McCoy. "Early and consistent saving makes a meaningful impact, and we're excited to help Georgia families get a jump-start on their college preparation and K-12 savings journey."
2025 NEWBORN SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY NOW OPEN
- Sweepstakes #1: Families with babies born between January 1 and June 30, 2025, have until September 30, 2025, to enter the 2025 Newborn Sweepstakes.
- Sweepstakes #2: Families with babies born between July 1 and December 31, 2025, have until March 31, 2026, to enter the 2025 Newborn Sweepstakes.
2024 NEWBORN SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY DEADLINE APPROACHING
Families with babies born in 2024 have until April 15, 2025, to enter the 2024 Newborn Sweepstakes. The winning baby will be awarded a $5,529 Path2College college savings contribution.
