Four Georgia Pre-K Students will Win Money for College through "Path from Pre-K to College" Sweepstakes

published March 4, 2024

ATLANTA – Georgia families with pre-k-aged children may win $1,529 for college through the Path from Pre-K to College Sweepstakes offered by Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan and the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL). Parents, grandparents, and guardians may enter the sweepstakes through the end of March. Four children from across the state will be selected to receive a Path2College savings contribution of $1,529, and the Pre-K programs in which the winning children are enrolled will also receive $1,529.

"We are proud to partner with the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning to promote financial planning for education through the Path from Pre-K to College Sweepstakes,” said Georgia Student Finance Commission President Lynne Riley. “This sweepstakes encourages families to focus on saving for education early. Saving regularly over time makes an impact, and this sweepstakes will help four Georgia families get a jump-start on their college savings."

This is the seventh year DECAL and Path2College have partnered to raise awareness of saving for college through the Pre-k sweepstakes. More than $55,000 has been awarded to Georgia students and Pre-k facilities through the sweepstakes.

"DECAL is proud to continue working with Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan to encourage families to begin preparing early for their children’s future,” said DECAL Commissioner Amy M. Jacobs. “DECAL helps lay a solid foundation for lifelong learning in children’s lives, and the Path2College 529 Plan helps ensure that students have the resources to pursue the college and career paths of their choice."

Parents, legal guardians, or grandparents with children enrolled in a Georgia Pre-K Program classroom for the 2023-2024 school year may submit entries online between March 1-31, 2024. Winners will be randomly selected. For more details and official rules, visit www.path2college529.com/PreK.
